Gift Ideas for the Business Traveler

I have been traveling full time for work for almost five years now, wow time flies (hey – look at that pun). Because of that and through trial and error I created a list of all the essentials any business traveler or honestly ANY traveler would love to receive this holiday season and why I chose to include each product. Enjoy and don’t forget to comment below to let me know if I missed something that you would have added on this list. Happy Holidays everyone!

Packing Cubes

I love using packing cubes and actually have two of these sets in purple and pink. I organize my clothes by activity. Example: casual clothes, business clothes, work out clothes & intimates. I use additional cubes for my blow dryer and my steamer or other miscellaneous items I bring with me. I also bring one for dirty clothes so when I get home from a trip I take that cube and empty the whole thing in my washer.

Portable Steamer

This has come in handy more times than I can count. Half the time the hotel iron doesn’t work or it has product on it that I don’t want on my clothes. Plus steaming your clothes is better for your clothes, makes them last longer and is a whole lot easier.

Jewelry Organizer

I will be posting a few items from this brand because I honestly love them. I hated spending so much time untangling my necklaces or finding the matching earring. This has been a time saver for me. It also helps me remember if I have left anything behind because I can see what’s missing.

Cable Organizer

I keep this in my carryon for easy access while I’m flying. It fits everything I need with extra space to spare. I keep my laptop charger, two iPhone chargers (because I always travel with a spare), my Apple Watch charger, my MiFi and charger plus some camera chargers and my headphones.

Laptop Case

This is the exact case I have on my laptop and I get so many compliments on it. I absolutely love it. I ordered a few different ones but the bottom cases kept coming off. I have had this one for almost a year now and have had NO issues whatsoever. 10/10 recommend. I bought a grey one for Derek, you can find his here.

Keyboard Skins

If you don’t have a keyboard skin then you might as well treat yo’self and grab one for you. Not only do these keep your keyboards nicer longer but they also make typing quieter. Nice when you’re traveling on planes, especially red eyes while everyone is sleeping.

Noise Cancelling Headphones

These are a splurge item but I cannot fly without these headphones anymore. The reason I prefer in ear verse over ear like the ones here is because my over ear headphones interfered with my neck pillow. I know I know… such a small problem but when you are taking 6+ hour flights – your neck pillow and comfort becomes first priority. I love watching movies on the plane and these cancel out all sound, even the crying baby a few seats behind you. I also use them without plugging them in when I am trying to sleep because once your turn them on they really do make everything go so quiet.

Neck Pillow

I’ve talked about this same neck pillow in previous posts but I really am attached to this brand. It’s extremely comfortable to sleep in, keeps my head upright and I’m not bobbing everywhere. I also love how compact it is so it doesn’t take up a bunch of space in my bag. Totally worth the investment. If you wear face makeup, I would recommend not getting black because all of your makeup will show on the pillow. The cover is removable and its machine washable so not a huge deal.

TUMI Backpack

Another splurge but I want to explain why I included this backpack. I usually never splurge on myself, especially on luggage, but after I launch a business a few years ago and did really well my first week I was on cloud nine. I was in LAX and walking past the TUMI store and saw this exact bag. I decided to “treat myself” and splurge. I am so glad I did! This bag is extremely high quality, has a compartment for everything including a separate laptop sleeve and I get so many compliments on it. I love this bag and it obviously has more of a special meaning behind it.

Collapsable Water Bottle

Let’s be real, traveling can get expensive so let’s save money where we can. I travel with a water bottle so once I get through TSA I can fill it up and enjoy my FREE water on the plane. I also love having it while traveling and fill it up at my hotel before adventuring off for the day. Bonus: You are cutting down on plastic waste by not buying bottled water.

Travel Blender

Travel Tip: bring a mini blender with you, buy a bunch of fruit for your trip or snag some from the complimentary breakfast, get some ice from the ice machines and enjoy a fresh smoothie in the morning. Also great for protein shakes!

I hope you loved these ideas. I will be posting a few more as the holidays approach. Let me know what you would add onto this list in the comments below! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
