The BEST Breakfast in Salt Lake City

In Food, Travel by GoldenLife2 Comments

WE LOVE FOOD! Okay, everyone does but you know the old saying, “Eat to live, don’t live to eat”? We are definitely the ones who live to eat. We pride ourselves on finding new restaurants to try every week and trying new things on the menu. Every time we visit a new city, which is every week, we ask the locals for recommendations and we have found some of our favorite spots this way. That being said, we have ONE exception. Eggs in the City.

location

Eggs in the City is nestled in a cute little neighborhood just east of downtown Salt Lake called Sugarhouse. Driving through the neighborhood and seeing all of the historic homes adds to the entire atmosphere as Eggs in the City is in the heart of it all.
Once you walk inside, you’re quickly greeted by the friendly staff who are always so welcoming. They have very little turnover which means their staff knows their customers and more importantly, they know their menu!

history

The restaurant was an old gas station that they converted into a restaurant. They have two huge garage doors that open up to their outdoor seating where large globe string lights line the patio. The atmosphere only adds to the amazing menu.

what to order

Like I said earlier, we pride ourselves in trying new things all the time and always order something we have never tried, with one exception. There is one dish that I will order every single time we go, the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and bacon on top. It’s unreal and this dish alone is worth the trip to Salt Lake to try. I literally crave their biscuits and gravy and I’m not even a biscuits and gravy fan! Derek still is adamant about trying new things every time we go (even though he eats off of my plate EVERY time), a few of his favorites are the Huevos Miguel & the Macho Style (pictured above). The service is pretty quick and they keep your coffee cup full!

n conclusion, you need to try this place. Let us know when you’ve made your way over there and what you think – we know you will love it as much as we do!

Eggs in the City surprised us by taking care of our bill as we were leaving in exchange for the pictures we took. It was unexpected but greatly appreciated. As always opinions are my own. XO
